Brother just picked up a T/C Venture bolt gun in .308 Winchester.

Will this handle 5.56 or no?

Thank you

    Ummm......No!

Two totally different calibers. Are you thinking of 7.62x51?

Boy it was a long night!

    Yes, I meant 7.62x51 (Nato)

The barrel is marked .308 so I'm guessing my answer is no anyway.

It will chamber the 7.62, but I was wondering if it was safe to shoot it.

Shot tons of foreign and domestic 7.62 nato in a Rem 700 BDL 308 Win.

If you want the rifle to shoot it's best, reload for it.

You can shoot 7.62 NATO in a .308 chambered gun. Reverse is not always true.
