Smiff Model 29-5 Are these Scarce?

I have an 8 3/8" 29-5. I cannot seem to find -5's on the auction side. Are these scarce? Also, I need an original rear sight assembly. Which "dash" versions are correct for my -5?

You need to compare part numbers with other N frames. The blade notch is matched to barrel length.

I would imagine they are scarce, at 3 1/2 lbs unloaded, not something you could shoot off hand.
Rufe, mine does not have a full length underlug! It's a 98% gun, unaltered.
That's kind of confusing? From the info in the S & W book the -5 engineering change was the full length underlug.
Did you buy it new? Any chance it was new old stock that had been sold after the mid 90's time frame?
Charliemeyer, GPC is out of stock... still need to know if other -2,-3,-4 rear sights are same.
Rufe, I bought it used. Serial number BHN6833. What was the -6 change?

-6 Engineering change, incorporated Hogue Grips, Frame drilled & tapped for optical sights, extractor changed etc.
My WAG is that your revolver was rebarreled, either by S & W or aftermarket gunsmith. -5 don't mean anything, it would just fair market value wise be priced out same as any other late production 29. Check to see what they are selling for on the auctions, to get a handle on value.
