I am looking at a broomhandle mauser trying to figure out what to offer for it
it has some features I cant find on any other gun
this example has a bolt hold open installed on the left side of the gun it is a round knob you push in to hold the bolt open it is spring loaded and you just pull it out a little and the bolt releases
also the front sight has a ramp added to it and it says King Pat. Pend. on the right side of it looks like it is slid around the original sight with 2 pins holding it on
the gun is all matching except for the grips which are checkered factory grips but not right for this gun
the serial is 421XXX
Thanks for any help

The two features you describe seem very interesting though. Is it possible to post quality photos showing them. Even if not original the quality of their workmanship would likely affect the value.
EDIT #1, The serial number puts it in the post W W I, commercial range. Mauser made very substantial numbers of broom handles during the 1920's.
As far as the current condition is concerned, and the reworked sight and bolt lock. These would be a negative as far as a BH collector would be concerned, IMHO.
Personally I wouldn't be offering a lot of money for a non factory original BH. That would be nothing more then a interesting conversation piece. Since BH's are ugly unpleasant pistols to shoot if you not familiar with them, I wouldn't even consider it a shooter.
EDIT # 2, In light of condition with surface rust and aftermarket alterations, i.e. bolt lock and front sight. Just a wall hanger/conversation piece. $400-$600, IMHO.
EDIT The king sight used a mirror set at 45 degrees to use available sun light to reflect onto the back of the front sight. very innovative. Idea of long ago . The over all outline of your pistol for some reason makes me suspect it is NOT made by MAUSER. I would love to do a hands on inspection. The hammer looks non Mauser also can you take close up of the pistol from the back also top of receiver with hold open engaged and are there any serial numbers on the hammer or rear of receiver? ARE YOU going to sell or keep? Thanks Perry Shooter
EDIT II for pictures we would like in focus pictures of the grip logo. I have never seen a Mauser with as little proof marks ETC. Would like to see any and all numbers letters Proof marks dates ETC. I looked at pictures of some other items are these from the same person [?]
EDIT III
Your profile has a defunct email address [V][?][?][?][?]
Shooter or parts value only.
It would be interesting to see pictures.
King's made replacement sights for about every firearm on the market.
A holdopen would be convenient for loading the gun with loose ammo, no stripper clip at hand.
How neat.
The King Reflector Ramp was the high end sight of the times, long before radioactive tritium night sights.
I have never seen the like of the holdopen. I suspect it is a gunsmith one off or one of a few. An ingenious solution to loading a Mauser without stripper clips.
I think the checkered hard rubber grips are legitimate Mauser, just less common than the usual grooved walnut.

what should I offer for the pistol
I have taken it apart and all the internal parts are matched to the serial number and yes it did take me about 30 mins to put it back together
