There's several books out that discuss your Win m1890 in detail. There were many veriations, most impacting value. Some collectors only collect these rifles. Is it a take-down model? What is it's serial number (ie, 123XX)? Can you describe it's forend wood (does it have 7, 9, 12 ribs, or is it plain with little lumps at both ends?) Any special sights? Those answers will help narrow the price range.

If it is a factory nickel you may have a collectable gun. Ned Schwings book Winchester Slide Action Rifles Model 1890-1906 is an excellent reference on odd 1890's and different configurations. If it is a special order gun it would be wise to get a proffesional appraisal.
