A freind has an old target rifle. The only thing I can find on it is RANGER .22 Long Rifle and under the barrel 43. It is pretty rough. Bolt action with clip, bull barrel. No other writing. What is it worth and how old is it. Thanks.

Al- these rifles were made by Stevens, and are basically the same as their 416 target rfle. The stock and sights are usually not the same quality as the 416, but the barrel and action are identical. I have 2 of these, as well as 1 416, and they are all very accurate and well built. If yours is "rough", value is $100 or less, depending on how rough. Shoot it and enjoy it.
