Does anyone know about Howa rifles? I saw one in a local gun store yesterday and had never heard of them before. This gun looked and felt good but? I can't seem to find any info on the net about these guns either. If anyone has first hand knowledge or could give this novice some advice it would be appreciated.

This question comes up with some frequency and replies here have generally agreed that these are a quality, well-made rifle. Howa is a Japanese company that have made rifles for Weatherby (Vanguard), Smith and Wesson, and others. Legacy Sports imports barreled actions and puts them in stocks here. I had one in .308 with a Butler Creek stock which was a very good rifle and a great price. For quality and value, Howas are hard to beat.

Teamblue has nailed it exactly. These rifles are a good bargin, with some nice features, like a flat bottomed action and a large lug.[This message has been edited by He Dog (edited 01-02-2002).]
