I've been drooling over an M39 "sniper rifle" offered by Interordnance and was wondering if anyone can recommend this as a good purchase. It comes with a Russian scope and appears to have a turn-down bolt handle installed. My main question is, is it worth the $399 they are asking? See it here.

I read an interview of several German WW2 snipers. One of them used the Soviet Mousin-Nagant sniper rifle exclusively for over a year and praised it.That sounds like a valid endorsement to me.

From what I've read on a forum of Moisin collector's they consider these a butcher job. A Chinese scope with AK or SKS rail mounts improperly milled and sloppily done by Interordnance, not original. It is also stated by some that have fallen for it that the scope wil loosen after just a few rounds. Opinions on Interordnance in general are 70-30 against. This is a nice rifle, and you should have one, maybe not from these people or this combination. You can buy the rifle for under $150 from them and if you shop around, maybe less. Try milsurpshooter.net Moisin Nagant forum.[This message has been edited by oneshy (edited 01-03-2002).]
