CZ 52s are being advertised as high performance guns at a low price. Are they a good bet for someone who wants a good shooter?

My boy brought one up during Christmas week. Just to look at it, isn't to impressive. The grips are cheap looking and the sights are pitiful, however it functioned flawlessly. It was a very strong shooter and pretty accurate considering the sights. For the price I think it is a very good buy. I do think I would give some thought on changing sights and grips. Cheaper than dirt has some wood grips for about $30.00. For a little over $100.00 you can have a lot of fun.

poshWorth having ?I wouldn't offer to sell you mine.I like the CZ-52's, they are unique and great fun with surplus ammo (get a 9mm conv. barrel) and you can shoot it all day with cheap "Wolf" ammunition.

Hello Posh. Concur with the above. These are strong pistols with an interesting mechanism and lots of fun to shoot! They do seem to eat firing pins however. I am about to install adjustable sights on one of mine.

Worth having? These pistols are so far ahead of their time its not funny! The delayed roller lock system makes them very accurate (which is kind of wasted on its pathetic sights), I beleive it is the first pistol with a de-cock feature built into the safety selector, the 7.62X25 (30 calibur) is an extreamly hot round which is not only fast & flat shooting, but also very effective. As pointed out above, replacement grips add to its asthetics, as well as the fit & feel. There is a replacement slide release (which you can operate with your thumb) avaiable which is also a nice upgrade, and with the addition of the 9mm drop in barrel it gives you many more ammo options!I have another firing pin just in case I break one, but I understand "dry fireing" is the major cause of their breaking, thats just what I've heard ... mine has never broken since I've had it over the last 3-4 years and approx 1000 rounds.Personally, I highly reccomend them for anyone, espically if $$$ is a factor. Its hard to beat their quality, reliability and accuracy, that being said, mines not for sale either!

Thanks to all for the information. In view of the high praise and the low price I'm thinking we should get two.

Wundudnee, what's this I hear about a Gun Show in your home town? Is this a first and would it be worth driving the three miles?

John Carr,I think it's their third show. Hpwever you may want to call ahead to confirm the show. LOL I can even find ways to spend money at small shows. Actually it wasn't to bad last time, think about it as the Topeka show with the beanie babies and roasted nuts shook out of it.
