I have never owned either one but I have shot both. The Walther PPK is very nice and I am not sure who would tell you about the 50/50 chance of them jamming. Of the two, my personal preference would be the Sig but the Sig was designed AFTER the PPK style and should be. I can't imagine you getting screwed by either one. I would say if you come across a good deal on either one that is the one you should pick. Final Score: Sig 100, Walther:99.

I'd go with the "Sig". It is a little larger than the "PPK", but I believe that it will be more reliable.Don't rule out other firearms like the "Kel-Tec P11" and the "Kahr P9" in 9mm.

I have an older PPK (German made) and it is 100% reliable. I wouldn't buy an American made PPK - ever. The Sig 232 is a bit larger, but lighter. It has an alloy frame and is very dependable. However, IMHO, if you buy a pistol that big, get a 9mm, a .40 S&W OR a .45 ACP! I would get the Sig for someone who couldn't handle a more powerful cartridge, but believe me, the recoil from a .380 blowback is not a lot less than a good locked breach 9mm.Good choices are the Kahrs (9mm or .40, all steel or polumer/steel), the KelTec (very light, 10 rounds and dependable), many folks' favorite the mini Glocks, the S&W Chief's Special pistols, and maybe the Taurus CCW lineup of 9mm, .40 and .45 pistols.Another excellent option is the no-longer-made Colt .380 Gov't model. It's a single action 1911 style pistol, only scaled down to .380 size. Very efficient and controlable, it uese a locked breach instead of the more common blowback action. The Pocketlight model weighs in very light but is comfortable to shoot.

If you have the cash I would go with the Kahr line. The P9 or the P40. same size as the Walther but with a much better punch. My 2 cents.

I have had 15-20 Walthers over the years. I never had a .32 that jammed. I never had a .380 that didn't jam.Walther is now making the stainless PPK in .32 caliber.Had a couple of Sigs...worked well.

I have the Walthers (PP, PPK/S, PPK) in 22LR, 32, and 380 and the SIGS 220, 226, and 230 and have never had a Walther or SIG jam. I have seen others with problems and most have been due to limp wristing the guns.I like both, but prefer the size of the Walther.

Hello ,Ive owned & "smithed" on both..both are very good guns...walthers trigger is a little rough out of the box but can be done right .the sig is a little bigger and bulky ...Ive carried a bunch in the last 22 yaers as acop...give some thought to the kahr series &dont rule out the kel-tec line , very good ,same small size , works exc., about 1/2 the price and a muche better cal.(9 or 40) , Ive got both and now carry the 40 off duty...it has never gave me an ounce of problems at all.....azgunnut2@yahoo.com........

If one is considering a pistol as big and heavy as a PPK or PPK/S, why not go with go with something no bigger, but much lighter and more powerful and holding more rounds? The 11-shot Kel-Tec P11 9x19 is my choice in this size category. Being a locked breach, the Kel-Tec in 9x19 does not kick any harder than the blow-back PPK .380. The Kahr pistols hold fewer rounds and weigh a lot more, as well as costing a lot more. Tbe Beretta M84 is a big as many 9x19 pistols, yet does not have their power. If satisfied with the lower power of the .380, why not go with a smaller and lighter gun like the Colt Pony Pocketlite? It is the smallest and lightest .380 available. (OK, the Mustang Pocketlite is a half ounce lighter, but it is a single action pistol.)

Just picked up the Colt Pony Pocketlite today at a gun show, it's a sweet little gun, I love it.
