Dear sir may I humbly beseech you, that thou might kindly grace me with some of your Infinite wisedom, O master of the scattergun. I have picked up a Browning BSS sporter in twenty gauge, with twenty six inch barrels. The gun is in 90% or better are they worth thier salt?     hey beltsaw a fellow peddlin' one o' them several yrs ago at the great western - about 95%, full/mod, was lookin' for $650. really can't say cosas muchas mala about them or any browning product of that era, pretty solid iron.browning choke nomenclature as follows:(from memory - we takin' a chance here)* full-* improved modified** modified-** improved cylinder*** skeet ?????hope dis helps, also hope it's accuratebest,joey

    Beltfed:I am away from all of my resources at the moment. Hunting quail, dove, and ducks in the northern part of Georgia. Assuming I don't get snowed in this evening, I will be back on line Friday. A Browning BSS is a fine machine - I am sure you will enjoy it.

    Hi Beltfed Finally back at home in the north end of Florida. Gosh -- what a mess from Atlanta to south of Macon. Got "bumped" twice by northern drivers -- Michigan and Minnesota. You would think they would know enough that driving on ice -- you can't hit the cruse control and just sit there. Fortunately, neither one was enough to spin me around or cause any damage to my big old Ford "land barge".'bO400879' has already handled most everything for you and not much to add. **$ is skeet choke and *** is cylinder bore. However, I never trust what is marked on the barrel as the choke could have been changed since it was first purchased. I always carry a choke gauge in my gun show bag with me.First time I have ever got in the dove field by moon light -- literally -- 8 degrees. Thank goodness -- no wind. Like other Floridians - I don't have gloves other than thin woven gloves---not suitable for 8 degree weather. I will know better next time and be better prepared.

    hey adams. how did you do on that morning dove shoot, had a shoot over here in bonifay on new years morning that wasnt quite that cold[you said 8degrees] low thirtys, best shoot for me this year, had my limt buy 10am.
