I have an older Colt 38 double action that I have not been able to indentify. Its frame is similar to a Police Positive special but there are a few differences. On this gun the latch is checkered and the ejector rod head is different. It has bone looking plastic grips. On the right side of the barrel it's marked property of the government of puerto rico ip. The serial #468xxx. The last pat. date on top of the barrel is July 05. Anyone have an idea which model this might be and a rough estimate on value? Thanks.

You have a Colt Army Special, mfg 1922. In truly mint collector's condition it might bring $400, but in typical condition about $200-$250. It drops off fast from there.Note: different frame size from the Police Positive series.
