Plainfield M1 Carbine - any good?

Looking at a .30 cal M1 Carbine, the name isPlainfield, is this like Universal? Whats thevalue of this gun? Thanks

    Yes, the Plainfiled, the the Universal brand, are copies of the M1 Carbine that didn't use Mil Specs. They are reported to be good as shooters, but you can't interchange every part with a GI part.As for value, to me they aren't worth $200, but I have seen them selling on auctions for $300 and above. To get a handle on the market - watch the auction sites for a few weeks and see what the selling price is (NOT the listing price).
