What frame is the Python from? What other revolvers come from the same frame? I understand that the E and I frames will accept the same stocks. If this is true, what revolvers come from these frames? THX Kevin

The New Service is the same gun as the Shooting Master except for sights. I bought a set of Pachmayr rubber "Presentation Grips" for the NS a few years back. They are marked Large Army inside.

I quit making grips in the 70's but still have some of the older ones at my snowed in ranch up north. I am copying from an old flyer to help with identification. Fitz GripsFitz "CG" Duramite Stag. Python, Off Model, Official Police, 357 mag and trooper are the same. Have Colt Scout Listed Diamondback,Cobra, Agent, Detective Special, police positive and Special are the same NEW "D" Frame Short Square Butt. Are Fitz "DB"The older round butt list Cobra, Detective Special, Police Positive and Special are Fitz "CV"ON the DB model and CV I have had to have the customer make a tracing of the bare butt of his pistol in heavy paper stock so I could fit it to the right grip no matter what the name of the pistol was.I hope this identification of older models helps.Paul Jones Fitz Grips retired 1979

The New Service, Shooting Master, and (Colt) Army M1917 are all the same gun.

Thanks to you all for the information. Seems as if the S&W info is easy to find, but for me, Colt was difficult. Thanks again to all.Ron

To - Calif-Saeco: If you can get a list together of what you might have in the snowed-in ranch & the approximate price, I'd sure appreciate it. E-mail to wedunit@nwark.com
