I work with someone who is looking to sell his Rossi 44 Mag Pistol, with a 31/2 in barrel. Im getting mixed info from friends on the make of the gun . some say that rossi manuf. makes lousy low quality guns that have a bad performance record. someone else said that he has a Rossi 38 and loves it and has no problems... more feedback + or - would greatly be appreciated!

If you want a .44 Mag. you better check this out.Rossi does not make (as far as I know )a .44 Mag Handgun. They made a .44 Special They are now owned by Taurus .They do or did make a .44 Mag Rifle. Some good ,some not so good.

I had a Rossi 44 mag rifle and it was the biggest peice of crap i ever bought in my life. It never loaded ammo right and i could not hit anything at more than 30 yards i sold it for 100 dollars and i was glad to get that much for it.[This message has been edited by Rob3448 (edited 02-12-2002).]

My wife has a Rossi 44spl with the same 3 1/2 inch barrel now I don't clame to be great with a pistol but it will put 4 out of 5 into the lid of a 5 gallon pail at 50 yards firing DA. 3 different shooters did it with that stubbie that day, we were all impressed by it.You won't hear me knocking it

If i remember correctly rossi's had a timing problem on some of their revolver, any smithy i talked to laughed and said to melt it down,

Every Rossi I ever laid my hands on was junk, but being bought by Taurus was the greatest thing that ever happened to that company. Taurus has really improved in quality and service, I actually like the new Taurus products and would recommend them, but I would definatly aviod any Rossi or older Taurus stuff, unless your a gunsmith that can retime, polish, and tune them up...

Tailgunner1954, unless the Rossi you speak of was worked over by a gunsmith, or you just got lucky and got that one in a million that everything match up on right, I really question you statement...
