Does any one have pros or cons on this round? Or has anyone heard of a rifle/carbine that is being designed for it. The specs I have seen look pretty impressive on the round.

I was pleased the first time I shot one, it was accurate as all get out. I like the horsepower also, it is a hot little load. I love it, thinking of getting another one.

Winged 1. Is that a .357 mag rifle or a 357 sig rifle?

Accurate and controllable in P229. I liked it so much that I now have 4 of them.Boomer

Gap, I have a sig 239 in .357sig I can't say enough good things about it. Ity is as accurate as any pistol has the right to be and the recoil is way below what it should be for a round of this power. The only drawback to this round is that if you like to load and unload your bullets often, then after the 2nd or 3rd chambering, the bullets start to seat deeper and deeper into the case. Other than that, it's great. You won't regret getting one.

I am not as good as those guys. My score on 5 - 10 round sets at 50 yards, using 10" disks. 10/10, 9/10, 10/10, 10/10, 9/10Believe me, it is the gun and round combination that makes the difference, not me.Boomer

The .357sig is based upon the .40s&w cartridge simply necked down. Compared to other auto cartridges it has more significant muzzle blast.115gr XTP w/13.5gr AA No. 9 @ 1434fps 124gr XTP w/13.0gr AA No. 9 @ 1387fps147gr XTP w/6.9gr VV N350 @ 1170fpsFactory Speer & Federal 125gr JHP @1350fps

I used the speer gold dots also, they shot beautifully. I shot better with that caliber on my first try than with guns I have had for years.

leeblackman, Just a note........The 357 sig is not just a necked down 40s&w. The case wall is thicker as it can handle as much as 10,000 more pounds of chamber preasure.

Not according to SAAMI specs, the case wall is the same thickness, both the .40sw and the .357sig are modified 10mm Automatic Cases. According to Norma it has a working pressure of 37,000psi and a maximum pressure of 44,000psi.This information can be found in Cartridges of the World 9th Edition by: Frank C.
