Why would a pre 95 10/22 be worth a dime more than the identical gun after 95, same gun, isnt it?

Ryan I seem to remember (from another board) that there was some discussion about a guy that was looking for older 10-22's, somthing about those made before a certian SN could be leagaly converted to full auto while those after that # could not (not realy but kind of a pre / post ban thing)as I remember he was in the business of doing these conversions.As you stated though, there is no differance in the rifle itself.Edit: *I may have my head in a dark place on this, due to having no intrest in the subject and the passage of time since reading*[This message has been edited by Tailgunner1954 (edited 02-13-2002).]

maybe it was the pre-warning inscription. You know "the bullet comes out of this end one" and could cause death or serious injury. probably around 1980

NO Ruger 10/22 rifles can be legally converted to full-auto, no matter when they were made. (How did that rumor get started?) (There may be some 10/22 full-auto conversions done legally before the 1986 ban on new private machine guns, but not many.)A standard M10/22 is not, and never was, an "assault weapon" so no 10/22 may now be modified with two or more of the forbidden features. There is no such thing as a "pre-ban" 10/22, with the exception of a 10/22 that was in existance as a suitably modified rifle with the requisite forbidden features on 9-13-94.
