installing gas piston on Mak 90

I ordered a USA made new gas piston for my Chinese Mak 90. I looked at my present gas piston and there is no pin at all holding in the piston, looks like I just unscrew the old one and screw in the new USA made gas piston. Has anyone done this here? Any problems I should be aware of in taking off and installing the new gas piston? Thanks.

As long as the threads match and it doesn't inhibit the action, it should be fine.

I had the same problem with my chinese mak-90there IS a pin keeping the piston from UNSCREWING the only thing is that they grinded the pin smooth with the bolt carierfor some reason, you could forget about tryingto knock it out i tried every thing short of a plasma cutter, my advice to you is to notmess with it and sell the whole carier and buy an eastern block one they have real pins that could be taken out! or just leave it alone and add your U.S. parts elswhere in the rifle. any way good luck.
