Ruger Brush Gun

A few years ago, Ruger made a semi auto brush gun for deer hunting. It was similar in appearance to the 10/22, but was in a higher caliber, 44 mag maybe, something like that. I just can't remember, but I would like to know, and to find one. Can anyone help?

    Rumor has it that Ruger is now making one in 44 Mag. I suggest going on to the Ruger website and check it out. I also believe I seen one for sale in this site somewhere. Good luck

    Yes they did, and they just brought it back better than ever. Its called the DeerField Carbine. www.ruger-firearms.com

    THE ONE YOU REMEMBER IS CALLED THE MODEL 44. 44 MAG. GAS OPERATED. HOLDS 4 IN THE IN-LINE MAG. AND ONE IN CHAMBER. VERY NICE RIFLE FOR BRUSH WORK AS LONG AS YOU STAY UNDER 100 YARDS. ALWAYS USE JACKETED BULLETS, LEAD PLUGS UP GAS PORT; MAKES IT A SINGLE SHOT AFTER 2 ROUNDS. THE NEW ONES ARE LEVER ACTION THAT YOU HAVE THINK ABOUT CYCLING. SAW ONE AT THE GUN SHOW IN ILL.
