Need info on semi auto tommy guns. Does anyone know if the new thompsons made by "kahr arms" are better than the original "auto-ordnance" models? How about resale value wise? Are they now marked Kahr mfg? If not how can you tel the difference between the two 1927 a-1's? Rayzor

There is no difference. The guns are precisely the same. There is no Kahr marking on the gun, since Kahr bought the rights to the Auto-Ordnance name. From talking to the Kahr folks at the SHOT Show on this exact subject, it appears that the only change in marking is that the new guns do not say "West Hurley NY" but now say "Blaufelt NY" (I believe).

Thanks guys! The one I have says "Auto-ordnance corporation Worcester, Massachussetts, U.S.A." and serial # prefix is KI. I guess it is a newer Kahr arms gun. Thanks again!!

You're very welcome. I bought 2 of these on GB's auction. 1 is used with no prefix the other new with prefix. I've had to send the new one back to the factory for an extractor that was damaged by steel cased ammo. Do not use steel cased ammo. Just some info from my experience.
