It's to bad I can't show you all the correspondence between their cust. serv. dept. & me, especially the last few e-mails. With the attitude they have, it's a wonder they are in business.

I have used Burris scopes for 8 yrs, but I 'll never buy another Burris product. I had one problem about 5 yrs. ago with one that would not adjust. Since this is not a "gripe" board, I'll sound off on another website for this. I am 61, & I don't need or want this grief & crap that I am going thru with there cust.svc. dept. I'll e-mail you some of ours (theirs & mine) "inspired e-mails". I also have 5 Leupolds-never a problem. Once I figure out how to give the da_ thing away, you may have 5.

here's a little trick that might help. You and the cust. svc. dept are now on opposite sides of the proverbial fence, soooooo.....since the warranty is honored by Burris no matter if you are the first or fifth owner, give it to a friend or a member of the board and have them send it back with a complaint about the problem. If they act as if it is their scope and it is a totaly different scope and occurance, it might be fixed and sent back right away. just a thought, sometimes you have to re-evaluate the rules in life. good luck.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

    JUSTC,
not a bad idea. I bought it new & a 6 X 24 , a few yrs. ago. I didn't know the forever warranty meant it would take for ever to warranty it. Another person could look at it & say I can live with those marks & crimp. burris & I have completed our "inspired" e-mails, & I shoul recv. it back next week. I think I'll have a contest, whom ever signs up 2 or 3 new NRA members could win it free. Since I never knowing cheated any one, & expect the same from others , you could be on your own honor system. This way something good would come out of their cust. service shop. Maybe I could get Captainkirk3 to pick a winner. What do you say about that Captainkirk3 ?

Chestsprings I have a couple of Burris optics,I have had no problem yet. But I have been in your shoes with other Products and I know how you feel. I think when a company does you wrong you should make it as public as you can, maybe it will save someone else from going through the grief you are. I hope they make things right with you!!

    Good Luck.

Just a point of information some won't people might not like. This is not pointing a finger, just a business fact.

Many companies have taken the policy of 'customer apeasement'. That being even if a customer does something wrong, ie., accident, mistaken-poor mounting procedure, low quality mount system, wrong adjustments made, etc., etc., they will replace-repair the item at no cost.
Even though the warranty has been violated.

A warranty is like a 'built in' insurance policy. It costs money, as it is built into the selling price. Even when auto accidents occur, the auto maker doesn't repair, or replace the vehicle at no charge.

Burris like others have slowly begun to 'tighten up' on repairs & replacements that do not qualify for warranty.
Nothing wrong with that except for those who have unreasonable expectations.
It is saving all of us $$$$, and sometimes people learn from their mistakes. Sometimes that lesson cost $$$, and some pride.

Over the years Burris has grown to be a major player. Always had the talent and product, just not the right marketing people. Note, how their advertising has changed for the consumers betterment, and their sales. Have they at times been slower than they want? Have they made mistakes? Yes, and yes. Well thank the tremendous sales increases that probably streched their human resources to the limits. But they're much better, as they made positive changes & additions.

I can put any scope on my guns I want. Last year set up a new 7-08 designed to be a light weight rig. Put on a Burris Signature 2-8.
Sling strap clip broke while lowering it out of my stand. Fell on the barrel, rolled on the scope. Sending it back to Burris to check out.
I'm not ecpecting it to be done free.

Just had a Stoner with a Night Force returned. I had sold & set up the optics with a Warne QR system. Shipped to customer knocked down with rings on scope. Scope came loose, and damaged the rail. Customer actually asked if that was warranty.
Did he like what he heard? No. Did he learn how not it let it happen again? Yes.

I for one won't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Hey folks this is what Burris has to say about this form going on and it speaks alot about there customer service. I email them about this going on and I also have had problems with them.
This is copied right from my email
"At this time we would rather not comment on the opinions of the individuals on the page not because we are wrong but we have better things to do then grip over this matter.
    Thank you,
    Burris"

So much for Burris, I'll stick with Leupold.

Without the NRA, the second ammendment would already be gone!
