8mm green tip?

Any idea what the green tip designation means? Just bought 'em on an auction because of their curious nature. According to the description the headstamp is BPD/943. Just another tracer? I've got FN 7.92x57 red tip tracers but this is news to me...

I don't know about those, but I think it may mean that it has a steel core. Armor piercing maybe?

little, "BPD 9-43" is an Italian headstamp. Sounds to me as though these could be the Italian Breda 8x59 rather than 7.92x57. Not sure what a green tip would indicate in that round. Before I go chasing references, would you double check the dimensions to verify the caliber? Capt. Kirk's ID is correct, but 1943 is much too late for the green tip version of the S.m.K.v. Also give us an idea of the shade of green. Dark, light, bluish?

    Here was the auction:

That's the pic that I have to offer, currently, but I'll surely take a gander at it when I have it in-hand. Sorry for the hesitation in replying; forgot that I posted until this evening.
