Remington Semi-auto shotgun

I've heard that Remington's first semi-auto shotguns were made on a Browning patent. If this is correct what was the model number and what years was it made under the Browning patent? Also what should I expect to pay for one of these?

What Duck Hunter said is basically correct. The Remington M-11
is a Browning patent. Remington originally said to Browningg
"forget it". Browning went to FN which eagerly purchased the patent.
Became the Auto-5. Remington realized their errors and reached a deal and started manufacturing the M-11 about 1911. Savage, I believe also produced a model, I believe a M-720? The M-11 is one fine gun. Yes, forearms crack next to the receiver. I have three that refuse to die.
Many grades on the M-11, some approaching several thousand dollars.
There is a code for reading the manufacturing date but I forget what how it translates out. No doubt another will be able to advise. Guess you realize I have a fondness for these guns. Bullet proof except for
forearm and fiber washer. Take care, Steve
No wish for one upmanship. I stand corrected...believe the
Remington M-11 design by John Browning was originally offered to
Winchester. I believe they came out with the miserable M-1911.
Wish to clarify and want no hard feelings. Too much negativity am I am apparently contributing. Best, Steve
