removing brass scrapes

Anybody have tips on what to use for removing brass residue on bolt faces and scrapes from the extracted shells? I've tried the Hoppes #9 that I usually use for the bore but it doesn't give me the results I'm looking for.

Use some MPro-7 and a toothbrush. Thats what I do. You just have to let the MPro-7 sit for 5-minutes and re-apply like it says on the bottle. Then scrub it with the tooth brush.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

I assume from the extraction scrapes you are speaking of a military design semi-auto?

try your copper fouling remover, just dab it on and wait a few minutes, then scrub it with a toothbrush to avoid scarring. Then I would also go with the aforementioned FLITZ, it is the best polish I have ever seen for metal.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

Sweet's solvent removes it fairly fast, about 1 minute. I will also a use a X-acto knife and Q-Tip.

Yeah, just a standard M1A. Shells look like they're hitting the operating rod handle area.

    Thanks everyone!

AND GUESS WHAT? One more post away from 500!! Woohoo!!
