FW Harrold percussion 12 ga. dbl. barrel. Any information on this shotgun would be appreciated. It is in excellent condition. Would like to know some history of FW Harrold if anyone knows. Thanks for any input you can give.

STJ; First off we have to ascertain the Country of Origin...! Just by the Name given I'd suspecion Belguim as Country of Origin..There was a London Maker named Harold & Son but No Harrold Listed in my Data Base.. The Belguim Makers were great at making copies of British Arms and changing the Spelling of the Names to make it appear that it was a known maker Rifle, Pistol or Shotgun...Check under the Barrels at the Breech End and see if there is an Oval with the Letters E over LG in it? If there is then its a Belguim 'KNOCKDOWN'...If not send me all the Proof Marks you can find and I'll research it for you in my Book of European Proof houses...Best....
