good revolver?

I am thinking about adding a revolver to my predominately automatic handgun collection, any recommendations on a good buy, value, etc.
Anything I should look for in particular?

    It really depends on what kind of shooting you want to do. My favorite revolver is my 6" Colt Anaconda .44 Mag. I bought this mainly for hunting Whitetail, very accurate, but really big...My second favorite is my S&W 686 6" .357 Mag. Also a good hunting firearm, not as large and powerful as the .44, but excellent just the same. Tied for third are my 4" Colt Python and my 2 1/2" S&W 66. Both .357 Mag., Both will do well for self defense and they would be easy to carry if necessary....JMHO....Good luck with your choice....

    I am mainly just looking for something to shoot at the range or in the country for fun. Mainly just want to keep my collection growing and adding some diversity.

    As stated, depends on your use. Consider a Ruger Security Six .357 with a 4" barrel...good for close target and home protection. If you want a carry gun, consider the Taurus (lifetime warrenty)line of .357. If you get a .357, you can also fire .38 special. Check out www.taurususa.com

    I'd stick to either S&W or Ruger.

    S&W 686 Plus 1 7-shot's are really nice.
    Ruger SP101 in 9mm or .32h&r aren't as widely produced as the others, would be good for a collection.

    I'd reccomend a Ruger Vacquero in 45LC for the most fun gun around. Same gun but diffferent grip style is the Bisley-Vacquero. Decisions, decisions.

    You have really been given some good advice. I assume you are wanting the revolver for self defense. One really good gun I didnt here mentioned is the Ruger SP101, it is very accurate, and made twice as strong as need be. I have one in .357 magnum with a two and three quarter inch barrel. I carry it as a back up weapon. And its easy to conceal.

    If you want something of quality and just to use at the range, try what I keep, I have a S+W modle 10-6, extremely accurate, inexpensive to shoot as a box of 38 specials only cost 5.80. Has a 6 inch Heavy (bull) barrell. work the trigger and actiion a bit and you have one fine shooting revolver.

    As far as "fun" revolvers go,I prefer single actions over doubles.Any of the Ruger line would work.They are all quality guns.Like stated above,the Vaquero 45lc would be my first choice for a fun revolver.But on second thought I want an Anaconda too.Oh well..

    Smith & Wesson 686 CANNOT be beat!

    I have a 7-shooter 686 with a newly introduced 5" barrel. It is a very well balanced and accurate gun right from the box. It's perfect if you think, like I do, that the 4" barrel is a bot too short and the 6" barrel is a bit too long. I highly recommend this gun if you can find one.

    Go to your local range and rent a few different models.

    I like things that go "BOOM"!!!

    I have a colt king cobra ss with 6" barrel its extremely accurate and Ive killed two dear and a copperhead with it. You should be able to pick one up for @ $475.00, it would also be a decent investment due to the fact that they don't make them any longer...

    When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

    Colt Trooper Mark III. It is not as pretty as the python or as strong as the anaconda but it fits the bill and its a Colt. My 2 cents.

    If you are a collector go with one you will really appreciate and one that will appreciate in value. Easy decision buy a Colt Single Action Army.
