Can Beretta mags or any metal mags for that matter be cold blued to restore the finish on them?

Only if they are steel. I'm not sure but I think they are aluminum, that means they would have to be anodized. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. If you put a finish that changes the outside tolerances like a hardchrome, the magazine might fit to tight to drop free, or may not function properly. I just wouldn't bother messing with it, they will just get ugly again anyway.

If anything just buy some new magazines.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Cold blue will work on any steel part. Beretta magazines have steel bodies (NOT aluminum as Mr. Blackman suggests) and will therefore take cold blue just the same as any other steel item. The aluminum floor plates found on many Beretta magazines of course will not take cold blue. However, there is an aluminum blackening product on the market that will blacken aluminum. It is not durable so the effect is temporary, but can be reapplied as desired.

another suggestion for old magazines which has worked well for me, is to get yourself a cheap powder coating setup. We powder the old mags, etc, and then bake the coating in an old oven. DURABLE as anything going and doesn't flash rust or wear as easily as blue. Just a suggestion. we have taken old, pitted, rusted guns, hit with the polisher, and ground away some of the pits, applied several coats of powder, and they look great again.

There are about 50 different colors you can use if you want to get tricky.

    food for thought.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

Thanks for the correction judge. There are also some nice spray on poly coats, and you may even consider parkerization.

I think you could probably get replacement tubes if your are getting really shabby.
