Hi,

I'd like to put my L.C. Smith double-barrell shotgun up for auction but i have no idea what it is worth?

Twin triggers, auto ejecter, scrolling & a few nicks on
the barrell but, on the whole, i'd call the condition "good". I had the butt plate removed and a rubber one put on; i didn't keep the original--i think the bluing is original but can't know for sure?

On the 30 inch barrell it says, London Steel L.C. Smith Ideal Grade. on the other barrell it says, Hunter Arms Co. Inc..Mfrs. Fulton, NY, USA. There is a serial number on the barrel, 190752; same serial number is on the part with the triggers; no cracks on stock.

I have adigital camera and can send pics to anyone who cares?

Kind Regards

The barrel length, ga. and chokes are fairly important.
Was the stock cut? Send me some photos w/ answers to the above
questions and I will advise. Best, Steve smhco@juno.com

Indeed. an Ideal Grade Elcee, but you left out way too much. My guess is a 12 gauge... The rest is all up in the air.

Replacement of the buttplate was a big mistake. Hope you have the old one yet and that there was no trimming or other modification. Any cracks in the wrist area?

Rust? That's not a good thing on a nice gun. Dings and such mean that the gun has seen some use, perhaps considerable. They won't help the value either.

"Ideal" is really just a fancy field grade. The use your gun shows is proof of that. In as-new condition this could translate into several hundred dollars difference. In 60% to 70% condition there will be little difference in value.

My best guess without really knowing the answers to my questions -

    $450.00 to $550.00.
