Savage 10FP

A co-worker asked me about a Savage 10FP in .308. Told him I didn't know anything about it but I ask the resident experts here on the board. Is it a decent shooter for the cost? Not even sure what questions I should ask.

    Very accurate! An LE SWAT type friend of mine has shot the 10FP side-by-side with a Remington and stated there was no difference between groups. The stock could be a little wider but they come with a second front swivel post for attaching a bipod. Savage also makes a 20" barrel version which leds to stiffer platform. The difference in price would aid in buying a quality scope/mounts or for a tactical stock like the one from Choate.

    I HAVE ONE ,BETTER THEN DECENT SAVAGE ALSO HAS A NICE SNIPER TRIGGER 24 OZ PULL MONEY WELL SPENT HARRIS BIPOD 25S WEAVER 6.5X20 X 40 PLUS ADJ SNIPER STOCK WILL SHOOT 1/2 EACH ALL DAY WITH STORE BOUGHT AMMO

    The Savage 10FP is a superb weapon. I only shot mine out to 100 yards, but was getting five shot groups that I could cover with a quarter. The triggers are a little crunchy out of the box, but they clean up nice!

    I have the savage mod 10 tactical. 1/4 in groups out of a
    rest. With 165 grain, store ammo. 100 yds.

    Pretty much the same as the guys above, But I have a Model 11f chambered for the .308. I dont know if its rare or I cant seem to find anyone local familiar with it. Its got a beautiful checkered stock and it dressed up nice. I also have a Remington mod 700 BDL and my Savage shoots as well as it does.

    The Savage 110 FP is one fiream that deserves the title of "Best Kept Secret". I wouldn't trade mine for love or money. You can take the 1/4 in. group stories as fact. Call me perverse but i just love to take mine to the range and lie in wait for remchester man. You know the one that just knows that his is better 'cause he paid more bucks for it. I grin through the razzin' then shoot m.o.a. or less @ both 100 and 200 yrds. Conversation kinda' dries up.
    The only thing I don't like is the factory trigger. A gunsmith smoothed and lightend it for me. Got mine over six years ago, so don't know if they are better now. But you can get after market ones. One more thing, if you put one in the hands of a rifleman you might not get it back.
