I have a friend who wants to sell his Springfield national match M1-A rifle. It has the bayonet lug and is preban. This rifle is awesome how much is it worth and how much can he get for it?

A good price depending on the condition would be below 1000.00. Normal selling range is 1000.00-1,500.00.

Most that I get to see for sale go for around $1200.00 in 98% condition. It might be a good idea to list it with Gun Broker.

    Good Luck.

These particular rifles are not seen often. If a National Match with a good bore (no serious throat erosion, clean, with good rifling) it might not have been shot a lot in match competition.

The pre-ban nature of this rifle may appeal to a collector who wants a pre-ban rifle,...but this is a HEAVY target rifle. The pre-ban nature will not appeal to a target shooter. Place it on GunBroker with a starting or reserve price that you can live with. The values given in prior replies agree with what I have seen ($900 - $1,300)... The bidders will establish the value and you may want to see if there are any on GunBroker currently.
