I bought this Golden Eagle today in 7mm Magnum caliber. It has 5 rear lugs and none up front, much the same as a Remington 788. I won't be able to shoot it until next weekend. What has been your experience with Golden Eagle rifles and their accuracy. Thanks for any replies.

Mine is a dissappointment! Best load is with 160 Sierra BT and H4831 for 1.89". Most groups hover around 2.75". Cases start to separate the third time they are fired. This may be because of the rear lugs or the sloppy headspace on belted cases or a combination of both. Cases have to be full-length sized each time or the bolt closes hard--there doesn't seem to be much camming power in those lugs. That said; they're beautiful rifles and maybe yours will shoot and load much better than mine. Hope you have good luck!
