I have a standard Ruger 10/22 that has a broken folding rear sight. Are they easy to remove and replace or does it take a special tool and a gunsmith? Thanks.

hello. yes they are easy to remove. tap out with brass drift left to right and install right to left, replacements can be found @ BROWNELLS. remember, if you need to file anything to get a proper fit.. file the sight a tad at a time.

As 260 says, they are easy to replace. Good thing too. That is the only thing that has ever been a problem on my 30 year old 10/22. Has had to be replaced twice now. Need to replace one on my newer gun now.
