pre safety Marlin 336

I own a couple of the 336 Marlin's with the hammer block safety, JM stamped, not Remington made. I do believe the JM stamped are better quality rifles. My question is, in a lot of the auctions you see it stated pre safety, are these better rifles or does being pre safety make it more collectable to some. Myself I like the extra amount of safety the hammer block gives you. I can't hardly equate this to being on the same level as a pre or post 64 Winchester.

Just like the Winchester 94's without the safety, the Marlin's, without the safety are worth more. The safety is an eyesore, that most traditionalist, and serious collectors, would rather do without.
