What is the difference b/n the barrett m82a1 with the full length scope mounting rail and the m82a1 with the raised bar/mount (for a scope)but does not have the full lenght rail?

Hello all. I am just posting to ask for opinions and advice on a possible price range for the rifle I listed in the subject.

It has the Pelican case, 2 10 round magazines, and I have the scope rings specifically made for the rifle that I would be including. I also have about 30 rounds or so of .50 ball ammunition for it left over as well.

It's had about 500 rounds shot through it and is in good condition. Everything works fine and it looks good still except for a few minor rust spots on it. It's been quite a while since I've shot the thing. Most, if not all of the rust spots will be completely gone by the time its ready for selling though.

Any ideas on a price range for one of these? I bought it from the previous owner back in Dec of 99 and he had only put less than 50 rounds through it. I know I have only put through about 400 and thats why I rounded it off to 500 just in case. Please post any ideas you may have. Thanks!

    Mike

That wasn't off the top of my head, so don't be impressed.[:)] I had to dig like hell to find that! But I was already looking for a buddy that has an AR-50 to see what fits what. There's been big jumps in muzzle brake tech for the .50's in the last couple of years. His made that AR50 like shooting a 12ga trap load, but God help you if you're standing anywhere near and off to the side of that brake, it's like getting hit by a bus!

Any machinist friend will have a set of dial calipers to verify 7/8=.875 dia, and a thread gauge to chech threads per inch!! Good luck!!

Kirk, do your homework on the suppressors before you buy one. They are expensive, you will still need to wear ear protection, and there's a healthy increase in recoil.

I already have a sound technology on my lar grizzly. its the middle gun. had it for about 6yrs now. on my grizzly, it is quiet enough that you don't need any hearing protection! a lot of air noise, and there is something that sounds almost like a crack down range. it does increase recoil a little bit, but not uncomfortable. I am having mark trous build me an adapter to put it on the barrett.

from what I read, some say you cant suppress the m82a1 and others say there is no problems doing it. quite a few videos on youtube of m82a1 with suppressors. za06w.jpg
