Thompson Center G2 Trigger Pull Too Heavy

The trigger pull on my Thompson Center G2 action is too heavy. I have problems getting my shots off without disturbing the sight picture.

Can the trigger pull be lightened without breaking the bank?

A fairly easy way of getting a better trigger pull is by using a lighter trigger return spring. Even if you don't polish the sear or sear notch simply switching out the factory for a lighter after market one will help quite a bit. I have a fair number of T/C frames and barrels, each frame gets its factory trigger spring and mainspring replaced, I also use a heavy duty locking bolt spring on all barrels.

Lots of info on the T/C and a source to buy the springs:

Not at all expensive. If you can take apart and reassemble the T/C you can switch out the spring. Not too difficult to learn, there are a few tricks to learn to not pull out your hair.

Something to be aware of, triggers on the G2 and Encore actions must reset. A too light trigger return spring may give a great pull, but if too light won't reset and that's not safe. I tend to use the 2 lb trigger return spring. Even with the heavier 51 lb mainspring the trigger resets every time.
