What materials can be used to replace supressor wipes on old MAC 10 Supressors? What was the originals made of? Thanks

Neoprene is great. Old inner tubes work too

    What's a "dim view"?

Either its legal to replace suppressor wipes or it isn't.

While changing OTHER silencer parts is problematic, the fact is that the BATFE has determined that it *IS* legal to replace silencer wipes without registering them or paying any additional tax.

Please do NOT take my word for it; see page two of this BATFE letter:

Anyway, to answer the question, typically people use polyurethane sheets or neoprene rubber ones for the end wipes on a suppressor. You could probably use any rubberized sheet or membrane, if you wanted/had to, though these tend to wear out pretty quickly so tougher ones are better.
