Antique Dr., Help with a value

Dr.,I have a grade 1 Belgium made Browning .22 auto. The gun is 98% with the original box, but no papers. The box has one corner slightly torn. The serial number is 24XX. According to my Blue Book (old) it cannot be dated from the serial number. One small scratch on the but stock (about 1/2" long) that doesn't go through the varnish. Could probably be polished out, but I don't want to fool with it. This was one of my fathers guns, but I can't find the purchase paperwork. he normally kept the papers on all of his guns. Anyway, can you give me a ball park value? Thanks in advance,
