winchester model 12 20 gauge

How old is my model 12,sn3309xx also any idea what it might be worth it is in very good shape.The gun has 28 inch barrel full choke,it is plain with a bead, no engraving,the wood is beautiful,bluing about 85%.has a hard plastic butt plate on stock that has wichester logo.This gun was my grandfathers passed on to me at time of his death in 1969 and now I will pass it to my son.I hope it will never be sold I was just intrested in value for insurance purposes.Thanks to all that respond.[This message has been edited by hazmac11 (edited 01-12-2002).]

    Your M 12 was made late 1922 or early 1923. As to value, a detailed condition report, as well as barrel length, and other factors such as plain, ribbed barrel, markings, etc. all play into the equation, not to mention regional interest. Fill us in on the details, however insignificant to you, and someone here can help you.

    Laxcoach is right, need more info. If the gun is in mint condition I would say the value would be a minimum of $600.00. You need to know whether it is a standard grade, skeet gun, pigeon gr..etc.
