Will 11-87 barrel fit 1100?

I was told that a Remington 11-87 barrel will work on a model 1100? Is that correct?Thanks

    It will fit the receiver, but it is not an exact fit. Remmington will not stand behind either gun if it uses the other barrel. It is strongly recommended that you not use an 1100barrel on a 11-87, or the other way around. Get the barrel you want for the gun you have.

    One second thought, (I can't remember what I read) the 11-87 barrel will slide into, but not really fit the 1100 receiver, but not the other way around. Anyway, it's a very bad practice to swap them out.
