Permanent benchrest plans

Does anyone know where to find downloads for benchrest plans? I would prefer free ones..!

    Best bet is to figure out what is comfortable for you, I built one that was uncomfortable and ended up unhappy, visited several ranges and gun clubs and found one that fit me and modified it as I saw fit and now I have a very comfortable bench. I also have a portable one that allows me to move around and change the shooting distnce and angles, copied it from Cabela's shooting catalog

    I shot off of a bench that was made for right or left handers, made of concrete with a polished aggregate surface just like those one might find in a park... being used as picnic tables. The picnic tables are rectangular, but these benches were wide at the front and narrower ar the back...kinda cut out on each side at the back...They're heavy and they really work good...and I can't remember where I saw them, but if I could I'd buy two for my range I'm fixing up..If anyone knows where I can get these things I'd sure appreciate the info..

    I went to Cabelas to check and theirs is a bench clamp made to work on guns. Im still looking too.

    Gentlemen: you can get plans, the BOM - in short, the whole ball of wax - from the NRA for a very small cost. You *are* members, right?

    Build you a form and pour them yourself. Our club did that several years ago. Set fasteners in bottom side so you can mount to the base you use. Glue a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet to top when finished and you're good to go. They are quite long lived. GW.
