I have a very nice rifle sighted smooth bore slug barrel for the 51 Ithaca,I had it for sale...but it`s eatin` at me to find a shotgun to put it on...are they good?....Is it worth it?It`s not that I don`t already have a Deerslayer,870s,and other sluggers, but, you know the feelin`..it`s like ya need it..even if ya don`t need it!! .218

They are an O.K. autoloader three shot capacity. If you can't hit a deer in two shots, i would expect it to be gone by the third.Ozlander

218 I'm an Ithaca fan and bought a 51 in 12 and 20. Shortly after purchase the bolt handle fell out. They pull right out, got another for 15 dollars at a show. The 12 dosen't cycle to well though. The 20 is a fine gun though three shot capacity is a pain when shootin' clays behind the house. I have a buddy with 20 and his gives him trouble. You can get parts from Ithaca for them. How much for the slug barrel?

Sir, if you want something relaible stay away for the 51. The bolt handles falling out is a common problem, as is slide arm breakage. Parts are hard to find, or have been. I was not aware that the new Ithaca company was selling parts for 51's. You might want to check that out before buying one.
