I have been trying to find some info on a Dan Wesson 44 mag. I have E- mailed Wesson arms and they responded with " no info available." I purchased it as new about ten years ago.It has rosewood grips, adj sight, small engraving on the shroud and cyl. Also, it is stainless. I dont see a model# but the serial is 0001xxI am curious about the value (if any)and also if it was possibly part of a set-I have seen them sold with multiple barrelsI only have the six inch Anything yall can tell me would be apreciated thank you, K.C.

One in 98% is about $345. Most weren't part of a set. But they did make alot of the sets. Full sets are worth more than the single guns.

I saw a DW .44 mag. at a show this weekend. SS,4" bbl,5-1/2"shroud w/ full lug, 3 large slot-like ports in the top of the shroud between the muzzle end of the bbl. and the muzzle end of the shroud,Round knurled nut ..externally threaded.. screws into the muzzle end of the shroud, the front edge of the front sight is 1-1/2" back from the end of the muzzle and has a yellow insert. The name "Dan Wesson" in script is engraved (gold filled ?)on the left hand side of the barrel lug,the right hand side of frame is marked "WESSON FIREARMS,PALMER,MASS.USA., 44S0035xx".I'm of the opinion that this is a special issue...Can anyone out there shed some light on the origin and value of this piece?????? Thanks.. [This message has been edited by JIM STARK (edited 01-14-2002).]

Do low serial #'s have anything to do with what a gun is worth ?

If I am not mistaken, some of the old ones were trouble due to the type of metal they were using. It wasn't forged or cast, it was something like spintered (?).
