I have recently purchased a ruger mk II. I am currently shooting winchester express 22 lr hollowpoints in it.. The gun jams at least twice a magazine. Should I try new ammo or send it in? Any advice would be appreciated.

sometimes the hotter load will jam. I think they may expand too much in the chamber, and with the light gas pressures and small desings of the 22's they don't create enough force to extract an expanded case. if that's not it, clean it. I mean take it apart and clean it. Hope you got the manual.

Ive had 30 years of experience with Ruger autos; Mk I, and Mk II. The universality is that they DO NOT JAM and that they will handle anything you put in it. Try another magazine. Dollars to donuts, that's the problem. Good luck.Morty

It sounds just like a problem I had with Megar Mags, they are top of the line as mags go but when I replaced them with Ruger Factory mags the problems went away too ... I tried at least 15 different types of ammo, it all jammed with those mags ...

I have three factory ruger mags. One works alright, maybe one jam, the other james 2 to 3 times, and a third jams 5 or 6 times. What do I do now?

When you load the magazine, be certain that the rim of the top round always sets in front of the rim of the round below it. This heps prevent jams. Think of the number ones (1s) below as cartridges (I hope this helps!) top l l l l bottom 1

Sorry, I can't get the post to line up the numbers properly. Just be sure the rim of the top round doesn't catch on the rim of the round below it.

    Magazine feed lip misalignment.
