I don't know if it will cause a jam, but I do know that it causes an increase in pressure in your gun. In some cases with 40 S$W this can be dangerous, like with kB!s where the gun blows apart.Stick with FMJ ammo. No worries that way.

Think about a gas operated weapon, can excessive barrel fouling obstruct the port ?can a dirty gas chamber/piston slow down/drag ?What about the moving action parts, even in a recoil operated weapon?Hint: I get a lot of good 22's cheap because they won't function properly, 95% of them work great after I give them a complete cleaning.Since the barrel is the only thing that a lot of people do clean, finding one with a filthy tube tells me that the rest of the weapon is full of crud and that will cause malfunctions.[This message has been edited by Tailgunner1954 (edited 02-23-2002).]
