Has anyone out there handled or shot the newer Glock 36 Slim Line .45 ACP? As I don't have large hands I thought this new 1.13" wide pistol might be the way to go. It takes a 6+1 single stack type magazine so the length of the grip must be OK.

mine are about medium. I shot it and thought it was terrific! It has a relative smooth recoil and very accurate considering. The grip is quite sufficient with the mag extender. I recommend it highly.

I wear Large size mens gloves. They are not really all that large but more long and slender. I love my G36. It fits me well and it is almost not there when I carry it in a small of the back Kydex holster from FIST. But I also love my H&K USP ( or my Kimber). SO maybe I just adapt to the gun in hand. Recoil is , like the recent magazine said, more of a jump than recoil. It is as accurate as I can shoot and has shot any loads I have put thru it , including mostly reloads and high end factory stuff

The Glock 36 is a great weapon! Combat Handguns magazine, Feb 2002 issue, has a great write up on it. If you can't find it on the news stand, you might be able to read the article on combathandguns.com, I don't know.Anyway, they had great things to say about the little Glock. The say it has a good bit of muzzle flip, but it remains quite controllable for personal defense (not target shooting at 100 yards!) The mag extension probably helps quite a bit....never underestimate the benefit of getting that pinky finger around the grip. Still, the author of the article was able to put 5 hand held shots (no bench rest) into a 2.52 to 3.59 inch grouping (depending on ammo). Not bad.Bottom line is that they loved the little Glock (as do I). But I do agree with the line of thought that says shoot one before you buy one (of anything).BTW....the same combat handguns Feb issue had another article on "The Best Dressed Glock 36" with some good ideas on accessorizing.Good luck with your purchase decision. Hope this helped a little.

Thanks to all your replies. The next time I am in Town (90 miles away) I'll check out a gun shop and take a good look at the G-36.

You might want to check out some on GB. I've seen some good deals on G36's WITH trijicons...
