Beretta 21 VS Taurus PT-22

With regards to compact pocket pistols chambered for .22 LR, what company makes the better of the two -- Beretta or Taurus? Accuracy isn't much of an issue since this is an "in your face because you just told me to hand you my wallet" kind of gun. I am more concerned with reliability. I have fired a friends Beretta 21 in .22 LR and it functioned flawlessly with CCI Stinger ammo. Does anyone have any prior experience with the Taurus PT-22 or both? Which would you say is the most reliable of the two?

I have only the Beretta, which I have had for years. Since the Taurus is a copy of the Beretta, I would go with the original. I particularly like the newer stainless Model 21. (Mine is nickel from the days when that was all there was, except blue.) My secretary's daughter has the stainless M21 and it is a beauty. I know nothing about the Taurus, but I suspect it is a quality gun as well. (Taurus guns of late are better quality than they used to be.)My personal preference is the stainless M21 Beretta.

Thank you for the input. I have never fired the Taurus but have had wonderful experiences with the Beretta. It is an idea that I was toying with while I had a NY CCW. I don't believe I'll be getting one while living in IA but it is a thought for the future when I live in a state where this will once again be a possibility. After seeing both the Beretta and the Taurus I realize that the Taurus is a copy of the design but there are some cosmetic differences. I wasn't sure if such differences carried over into the realm of reliability. I know such guns are picky when it comes to ammo selection.

If I were going to carry a "mouse gun" for concealed carry, I would carry the Kel-Tec P32. It is smaller, lighter, more powerful and costs less than the M21. I have not found my M21 to be picky about ammunition. Why not get a concealed carry permit in Iowa?

I dont know about the PT 22 but I own a PT25 and havent had any problems with it. I would consider the taurus a quality gun.

I don't want to take this thread down the road of stepping out of the "Ask the Experts" boundaries. I used to own a Beretta in .25 but had to sell it before going to NY. It was a good shooter. My buddy's .22 was picky about ammo and CCI Stingers were all he used if he wanted it to function reliably.I haven't bothered with an IA CCW. I guess it stems from the resistance I got at the Sheriff's Dept. in the county I used to live in.

I have both the Taurus PT-22 and Kel-Tec P-32. The PT-22 is fun to plink with, but for a little pocket carry I always use my P-32(in an Uncle Mike's #2 pocket holster). Not as powerful as my other carry guns, but it even slips into a pair of shorts easily. The +1 mag extension (though expensive) really improved the grip.
