I got this buddy who swears up and down that his dad has a "tripple-action" handgun. I tried to get him to explain this and the closest I come up with is that its possible a gun where you have to pull the trigger once before you can shoot and then its a DA pull and SA follow-ups. He says he thinks its a Daewoo.Anyone got any info on this?

It *IS* a Daewoo!!!!I have one in 40 S&W, and it is the one I trust my life to.Once a round is chambered, the hammer is at full cock. Push the hammer down with your thumb. As soon as you touch the trigger it flies back into the full cock position and has a single action trigger pull.If you like you can hold the hammer as you would with a Colt 1911 single action and touch the trigger, allowing you to lower the hammer. Then you are in the double action mode for the first shot, single action from them on.If you like you can keep the hammer at full cock and put the safety on and have a single action trigger pull just like the Colt 1911.Since you have three different choices, that is why they call it "Tri-Action".Mine is the older version, that has the 11 round magazine. One up the spout and 11 in the magazine gives me 12 rounds of opportunity to put a stop to what ever is a threat to me. If I fail to put a stop to it with 12 rounds at my disposal, then I was out gunned to begin with.[This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 02-25-2002).]

Yes the Daewoo triple action system has been around for over 10 years. It works quite well. This system makes that first round more capable of hitting the target, as you don't have that heavy first double action pull taking you off your point of aim. The gun can be used like a standard double action if you choose, but the triple action system is much more desirable. The concept is much the same as Para Ordnance's DAO system, which got "Handgun of the Year", two years in a row. I should point out that Daewoo developed their system almost a decade before the Para Ordnance design started getting the awards. I think the judges were asleep when the Daewoo came out.

Mine is the Model DH-40. They also have two model chambered for the 9mm parabellum.Give or take a short snort somewhere between $350-$400.Try "Irarmsx"----he seems to have almost everything. I sure would love to prowl around his shop and see just what all he does have. I am will be to bet money that if he doesn't have one --- he can get one.

I do have the 9mm's in stock, the full size and the compact. The compact uses the S&W 469-6906 series magazine. The full size uses the S&W 5900 series magazine, but it sticks out slightly. My E-mail is LRARMSX@MCHSI.COM
