I have a 48 that I think goes on a 52 but the ones I've seen assembled were different than mine. This one has two counter sunk holes for flat screws that are in line with the center of the action. Not being familure with the sporter 52,leads me to think that it might have made for that one.Do you have knowledge that you could share with me??Thanks for the help.Regards, bill vincent

The Lyman book I have says that the proper sights for the model 52 Win. is a 48F and 48FH. I believe I have seen an early one that mounted in the wide dovetail on the receiver that the factory sight fitted into.

Thanks Herschel, I also have seen those but this one is different than any other .What other rifle had a large flat on the top of the action bridge???I do wish they would have lettered all of their sights. Most of the later ones were marked but I have had several 48s and none were marked. Thanks again, bill
