I have a Rem. 700 ADL .270 and would really like to see what it will do with Match-grade Ammo., the only problem is- I don't know of any Manufacturer who makes it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

D2ani - the .270 is not usually considered a match grade target caliber, so no factory ammo is loaded to that level of accuracy. That said, however, I can offer two suggestions: (1)Purchase the premium offerings of the various manufacturers and taking as many of the steps the professional writers use as you can (clean weapon, fouling shot, chronograph, average of several groups under [near as possible] identical conditions, allowing the barrel to cool between groups, etc., etc., etc.) determine which shoots best in your rifle at the distances you expect to be shooting.(2) Take up handloading if you haven't already and do the same as above. You will find that with some time & effort you will be able to achieve significant improvements over factory ammo in virtually any caliber and it will cost you 50% or less than the factory offerings, even w/ premium components.chuck - I don't know what posts you've made which haven't been answered. I do know I've made several myself that have not been answered and many more which have. It could well be one of two factors: either no one has an answer or that the subject has been beaten to death in previous threads which the reader feels are still accessible. In my experience, the people on this board are very generous in giving of their time to fellow enthusiasts.

Federal premium 130gr NBT are great shooters for that caliber.

Shot that caliber for years before my "upgrade." Iconoclas is right, reloading is the way to go. I settled on the 130gr. nosler-BT-ballistc tips for target and hunting. I figured if I was unable to hold the gun any better than I did I might as well figure match grade wouldn't help much either. Unless you figure on going into competition or something, I don't believe match will help all that much, just cost a little more. Reloading will usually improve the gun all that you will need.

I use 150 gr. sierra boatail, bullet seated out until it almost touches the rifleing. 58 gr. of H4831. accurate in any 270 ive ever loaded for. Be careful in older 270 rifles, bullets cannot be seated out as far as newer rifles.
