Browning Sweet 16 Question

I have a Sweet 16 with a 2-9/16" shell designation on the barrel. Can I shoot 2-3/4" shells with this gun if I pick up an 2-3/4" barrel, or does the gun itself have to be reworked? Thanks.

Do not shoot the 2 3/4 shells in it. Not enough room for the crimp to
open. Pressure will go off the graph. Very easy to lengthen the
chamber. It takes a 16 ga reamer and a good gunsmith should have one.
May also have to open the ejection port a little bit, but its no big
    job.
