Beretta Blackpowder Shotgun

Subject: Beretta O/U Black-Powder Shotgun

I have a recently manufactured COLLECTORS ITEM (manufactured within the last 15 years.)

It is a BERETTA, O/U, 12 Gauge, Black-Powder Shotgun (Percussion Cap). It has a brass decal under the forearm labeled "III Ceuteuario Beretta". The top of the upper barrel is engraved "1680 PIETRO BERETTA GARDONE 1980" with swirls on either side of the engraving. The barrel is also marked Berben Corporation N.Y.-N.Y.. The receiver tang shows Serial Number X00886B.

This gun has 30" barrels (marked I 12ga) with brown-bluing, case-hardened locks and hammers (double triggers and double hammers), and case-hardened hardware and butt plate; and it has a side-mounted, brass-tipped ramrod that runs through a side-mounted sling swivel on the barrels. There is a standard mounted swivel on the stock. It has a double tiered cheek-rest stock, and it appears to be all European Walnut Cabinetry.

I purchased this gun "new" several years ago, and it came in its Beretta custom case -- complete with accessories. It has never been fired! It is in mint condition and worthy as a heirloom!

I understand that only 1200 of these guns were manufactured. I would like to know the present value for this gun. I have checked with several dealers and other sources with no luck.

If you can supply this information lease e-mail jdavis86@earthlink.net.

Good Afternoon Joe: Unfortunately the Beretta 300th Anniversary Model was a complete and Total Flop! No one wanted to pay the price of over $1000.00 when they first came out in the early 1980's...My Wife bought me one for My collection for my Birthday and Only Paid $400.00 plus shipping...It came complete with all the Accouterments in a Styrofoam Container inside a cardboard Box...I kept it around for for the better part of 15 years and finally sold it for $100.00 cash and am EMF .45 Six Gun...and felt I came out on the better end of the deal! If you look close the Barrel bands are cheaply Made and are as thin as can be..The Forearm is what I consider to thin for Field Use and the Few I've seen in shops across the country that have been shot all had cracked Forearms..But...as the man says...Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...If you like it...then thats all that matters...But as for value...Consider yourself lucky the get $400.00 for it....Best...
